People have paid tribute to the family of a woman who died while battling cancer in the US.
The 19-year-old girl was in the hospital after her boyfriend was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
She was named after a family friend who was also battling the disease.
Her mother and sister held a vigil on Sunday in her hometown of Mesabi, Ohio, outside Akron.
“It was really emotional,” the family said in a statement.
“My daughter was a beautiful person and a good person and she will always be remembered as one of our greatest members.”
We are praying for her recovery, and that she can be home in time to attend her sister’s wedding next month.
“She was a special young woman who lived life to the fullest and she gave so much to others, no matter where she was.”
I know my daughter would have loved to be with her family.
It was very special for us to have her at our home for that special day.
“Mesabi Mayor John Schoen said his town was still grieving the loss of a “beautiful young woman”.”
I’m sure our whole town is going to be a little bit of a different place today,” he told reporters.”
Mesabis family will be a huge part of our healing process.
I can only hope that Mesabi will heal itself.”‘
She gave us strength’The girl was found in a car at a hospital, suffering from severe breathing difficulties.”
Our entire family is heartbroken over the loss and our hearts are with her,” Schoen told reporters in Ohio.”
The way she walked, the way she spoke, the love and warmth she had for others, for our friends, for herself, it was incredible.”‘
I’m so proud of her’The teen’s boyfriend was treated in a nearby hospital for pneumonia, but died from the disease in the intensive care unit.”
He was just a young man, he had cancer, and unfortunately, unfortunately, he was just not given the time he needed,” the mayor said.”
Today, as we mourn, we can also celebrate the wonderful life and love of a young woman, who gave us so much strength, and I am so proud to be her mother.”‘
We’re all in shock’The family said they had been struggling with grief for days and would continue to do so until the girl was home.”
There’s no words to describe our grief,” the statement read.”
But I know that we are all in a state of shock.
This was an absolute miracle.””
She gave the people around her strength, she made sure everyone was OK, she gave them the strength to go on.
“Mesa police Chief Chris O’Brien said the girl’s death was the first confirmed in the county in three years.
He said the case was under investigation.”
This is a very difficult time for the police department,” he said.
The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction said the young woman’s death could not be attributed to any one individual.”
At this time, we cannot confirm the cause of death.
The investigation is ongoing,” it said in an email.
The girl’s body was found at a nearby home on Sunday afternoon.”
Every day, I try to get out of the house,” the girl told the Akron Beacon Journal.”
You can’t do anything for someone else but to try to be there for them.
“When you are so small, you feel alone.”
