WASHINGTON — The two men killed Thursday in a bar brawl in Montana say they were just having a drink and they were not intoxicated when they were killed.
Both were 17-year-old students at the University of Montana, Mont.
Both are from Boise, Idaho.
Both died at a hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada, about four hours after the brawl broke out, a statement from the university said.
The two were killed by a single gunshot wound to the head, police said.
They were taken to a local hospital for treatment, where they died.
Authorities said the two were arguing about a girl who had just graduated from Montana State University, the statement said.
The two were involved in a dispute when the fight broke out.
The statement said the three were friends and had been drinking.
The police said it is too early to say whether the shooting was a crime or whether there were any witnesses to the fight.
It is also too early for any criminal charges to be filed.
