Decatur, located just south of Chicago, is home to the Chicago Bears.
It has the distinction of having more than 60,000 residents, according to the most recent Census figures.
And it’s one of the largest urban areas in the United States.

Horse ParkThe Horse Park in Decatur is the oldest amusement park in the country.
The park was founded in 1798.
The original location was on the west bank of the Mississippi River, according the Decatur Daily Journal.
But in 1928, it was moved to the south end of town to accommodate the growth of the city.
The new location became a popular stop for tourists and residents alike.
Decatur has become a popular destination for people looking to take a hike, visit the horse tracks, play in the pond and even catch a movie.

Decarie Park, DecaturThe Decarie Park is one of Chicago’s most historic neighborhoods.
The area is home of the Decarie Bank, a national bank founded by the United Bank of Commerce in 1894.
Decarie was built on a hilltop overlooking Decatur Lake, which is just over 2 miles from downtown Chicago.
The Decarie Mansion, built in 1856, is the most famous residence in the city and is currently owned by the city of Decatur.
It is located just off of Route 28, near the intersection of Illinois and North avenues.

In the summer, people come here for the outdoor activities, such as basketball and baseball games, horse races and concerts.

Chicago ZooChicago Zoo is a private zoo, and houses more than 1,500 animals.
It was founded by Charles Darwin in 1837.
The zoo is one the largest in the world, with more than 5,000 animals.

Chicago is home with some of Chicagos best attractions, including a beautiful waterfall, a great view of downtown, and the Chicago River.
